Rajasthan By-Elections 2018 Results: Congress Sweeps Mandalgarh, Alwar And Ajmer Polls.

HIGHLIGHTS
1.Rajasthan Bypolls: Congress wins Mandalgarh Assembly seat from BJP.
2.Congress defeats BJP in Ajmer and Alwar parliamentary seats.

The Congress Party clean sweeps in Rajasthan bypolls, Congress won the two parliamentary seats Alwar and Ajmer with the assembly segment Mandalgarh, all belong to the BJP in previous elections.

In Alwar  Lok Sabha seat Congress party won by over 1.96 lakh votes. There were 11 candidates on the ground of Alwar Lok Sabha seat. BJP has fielded Rajasthan minister Jaswant Singh Yadav from Alwar while Karan Singh Yadav was contesting on Congress ticket.The Alwar Lok Sabha seat had gone vacant after BJP MP Chand Nath died earlier last year.

In Ajmer Lok Sabha seat Congress party won by over 84,000 lakh votes.There were 23 candidates on the ground of Lok Sabha seat. From Ajmer, Ramswaroop Lamba was contesting on BJP ticket while Congress field Raghu Sharma against him. The poll on the Ajmer Lok Sabha seat was announced after it had gone vacant following the death of BJP MP Sanwar Lal Jat earlier last year.

Congress Party won Mandalgarh by more than 12,000 votes.From Mandalgarh Assembly constituency in Bhilwara district, the Congress has fielded Vivek Dhakad as its candidate and Shakti Singh Hada is contesting bypolls as BJP candidate. This assembly seat was declared after the death of Mandalgarh MLA Kirti Kumari.The bye-election is also being seen as a semi-final for the Rajasthan Assembly Elections and Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

After the huge win at all three seats Congress President Rahul Gandhi tweets,“ Well done Rajasthan Congress! Proud of each and every one of you. This is a rejection of the BJP by the people of Rajasthan.#RajasthanByPolls”

After the declaration of result President of Rajasthan PCC Sachin Pilot tweets, “A huge victory for the people of Rajasthan. Hat's off to the hard work put in by all Congress workers, leaders, volunteers & well-wishers. This is the start of the end of BJP in the state “

Sachin Pilot said this bye-elections mark Congress party's comeback in a big state at an important point in national politics. "The people have rejected the CM Vasundhara Raje’s government and its policies. The youth of Rajasthan have realized that the politics of polarization doesn't work".


In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, Sachin Pilot had lost the Ajmer seat is also the Congress failed to win a single seat in Rajasthan.
While thanking to the people of Rajasthan Congress Chief Sachin Pilot said,”It's emphatic victory that people have registered for Congress. Thankful to people of Rajasthan. Beyond Rajasthan also, these election results will have an impact as Jumlebaazi, politics of division and venom is not acceptable”



On other side CM of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje tweets,” Our efforts shall continue and we will keep the welfare of the people of Rajasthan at the forefront, as Democracy is ultimately for and of the people. I congratulate the winning candidates and welcome them to this celebration of Democracy “


All the three seats Ajmer, Alwar, and Mandalgarh were previously governed by the BJP therefore, the bye-elections are being seen as a prestige battle for Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and  BJP. This huge victory surely boosts the worker of Congress party who wants to see the change in the state government and helps the national politics of the Congress.
